Record store day was this Saturday - To celebrate, I wanted to show you a few records from our collection PLUS this extremely simple craft *If you have records laying around that are unusable*
The records I previewed in the video:
Something Silly: Dorothy Provine – The Roaring 20's
Something Serious: The Arctic Monkeys - AM
Something Local: The Lucky Ones - Better Late Than Never
Always love getting recommendations for different music to listen to, and it doesn't matter what style - I'm always open to something with a funky beat
HOW TO TURN AN OLD RECORD INTO A BOWL:
Find an old useless record and grab a medium/large steel bowl
Heat oven to 200C and place the record flat, on top of the bowl for 8 to 10 mins
*No hotter than 200C that or you may release toxic fumes into your oven
Check progress at the 4 min mark, see if the album becomes "flexible" and can be pushed into the metal bowl you've picked to use as your mold. If its not flexible enough yet, put it back in the oven...
You'll be able to push the vinyl into the metal bowl to create a smaller bowl out of the album... you can use a smaller bowl or glass cup to do this, or just fist it with your oven mitt! Yeah, you read that right... I said fist it.
Let things cool... and TA DA! Record Bowl!!
