After working in Radio for almost a decade, I wanted to get something to represent that time but I also wanted it to be more than just that... I didn't want to just get something representing the places I've worked, I wanted it to have a deeper significance to me and my life.
I remember my parents owning an old school radio, it was always in their bathroom.. for shower music? I guess? Mom said it was given to them by my grandparents and I loved the way this thing looked ever since I was a kid.
When I was coming up with the idea for this tattoo, I just knew I had to get a photo of that old radio and make it the main focal point of the piece. I also have a "nature" theme going on, on my body, and for now I'm planning to keep going in that direction, so I needed to work in something "floral" - The flowers in this piece represent each of the province's In Canada that I've worked in. I got this done while living in Regina so I still need to add an Ontario Trillium to complete the piece.

Oh, if you're wondering... Yes it hurt, especially the hand job part!
This tattoo even ended up winning some awards (It was done at the Pile O Bones Tattoo Convention in Regina)
To this day, I am still IN LOVE with this tattoo and can't wait to add to it!
